James Morrison 15th Traditional Music Festival 2009
Riverstown, Sligo
James Morrison is a local legend and this makes for the 15th year in which he is remembered. This musical genius played the fiddle with extraordinary skill and this festival celebrates him over the August bank holiday weekend. All are welcome to join in is this 3 day event with concerts, street céilí’s and plenty of other activities that are open to all....

The 25th Annual Warriors Run 2009

This annual Warriors run is not for the faint of heart as the arduous 10 mile run from the beach front at Strandhill to the top of Knocknarea mountain and back again. This festival is held over the June bank holiday weekend that features a host of traditional Irish music, song and dance events. There are numerous events held specifically for children, as there are over 400 kids expected to attend. As well as the official opening, there will be a concert, a céilí, some street music and there will also be plenty of other informal events taking place on the spot throughout the weekend....

This festival includes vintage displays, trad crafts, and plenty of music, song and dance throughout the first day of the event. There is going to be some poetry and other writings being reading workshops. Day two of this event will be a dedicated family fun day and there will also be plenty of other activities for kids such as some traditional novelty sports....

Border Trek 2009

This 200 cycle stops over in Sligo in its long trek through the countryside starting at Enniskillen and passing through Carrick-on-Shannon on the way to Sligo on Day 1. On Day 2, it continues from Sligo, on through Manorhamiliton and Lough Melvin and finishing the 104 mile cycle in Enniskillen once more.
